The Miniature Worlds of Tim Prythero
New Mexican sculptor Tim Prythero creates ultra-realistic worlds that depict gritty, earthy scenes of urban decay in a completely realistic third-dimensional sculpture. He is famous for his attention to detail, down to the tear in the screen, the ristra at the door, or the Santo in the window. His New Mexican dioramas depict the weathered scenes of life in an adobe frontier, evoking a particular nostalgia for the Land of Enchantment. Completely hand-finished hydrostone pieces, Prythero spends many long hours sculpting, assembling, and hand painting each piece.
Tim Prythero's work has been collected by The Crocker Art Museum, the Sandy Besser Collection, the Albuquerque Museum, the New Mexico Museum of Art, Chase Manhattan Bank, the Roswell Museum, the Albuquerque Sunport and numerous private collections. El Nicho is proud to represent Tim Prythero and his masterful dioramas.
