During the 1980s and 90s, Michele was busy teaching Spanish and squeezing in every college art class she could including airbrush, ceramics, molding and casting, color theory, and the art of puppetry.
Michele has recently found inspiration by working with papier-mâché. She has created puppets, masks, and sculptures. Many of the materials for her little friends come from recycled and repurposed items; one person’s trash is another’s treasure. She also uses paint, paper clay, beautiful fabrics, and textiles. She calls her pieces no strings attached because they were all based on puppet concepts but so far there are no marionettes.
El Nicho is delighted to showcase Michele's wonderful pieces in Santa Fe!
