Folk Art Mascots
El Nicho has one of the largest collections of folk art available for sale in Santa Fe. In addition to our popular angels and santos we also sell Joe Ortega's hugely popular folk art mascots. A menagerie of bunnies, donkeys, coyotes, armadillos and roadrunners celebrate the high desert landscapes of New Mexico. But Joe doesn't stop there! Elephants, giraffes, dragons, sharks, penguins and aliens also await the curious visitor to El Nicho! In fact, Joe will carve almost anything upon request, even the family dog!

Due to the tremendous popularity of these pieces, our folk art items sell very quickly and our inventory is constantly changing. While the exact carvings depicted on our website may no longer be available, similar items by the same artists are likely on hand.
